Building a Community with Online Route Optimization

Congregation Beth Am, a Reform synagogue in Los Altos Hills, CA, launched the Purim Mitzvah Project to build community and raise funds by sending personalized goodie bags and greetings to members. The challenge was delivering more than 1,500 bags across about 20 cities in just five days and coordinating enough volunteers and efficient routes amid frequent last-minute address and availability changes.

Using MyRouteOnline, volunteer coordinator Sandi Spector imported addresses from Excel and generated 139 optimized routes (roughly 10 stops each), adjusting routes up to 25 times as needed. She produced simple driver sheets and printed maps that volunteers loved; deliveries were completed efficiently, the fundraiser successfully supported other synagogue activities, and Sandi praised the software and its outstanding customer service.
