Case Study: Essendon Football Club achieves efficient door-to-door visits to 20,000 members with MyRouteOnline

A MyRouteOnline Case Study

Preview of the Essendon Football Club Case Study

Australian Football Club Uses Online Route Planning

Essendon Football Club, a Melbourne-based Australian football team, wanted to thank loyal members after a period of public relations challenges by personally visiting season ticket holders. The club faced a huge logistical task—about 20,000 households across Australia needed to be visited, requiring organized transportation, accommodation and efficient driving routes.

Using MyRouteOnline to optimize routes from a master spreadsheet, teams of volunteers were able to visit roughly 100 members per day; about 150 people completed the campaign in four months. The initiative delivered positive personal interactions, strong media and social coverage (sparked the #donsatyourdoor campaign), and is expected to help with upcoming membership renewals.
