Merit America, a nonprofit that trains adults in low-wage roles for tech careers, needed a scalable, remote-friendly way to admit and assess candidates—many from underserved communities who don’t have traditional resumes. In-person and group Zoom interviews were inefficient or intimidating, and Merit America required a customizable tool to reliably screen professionalism, basic technical skills, English proficiency, and commitment. myInterview’s video interviewing software was integrated into Merit America’s admissions funnel to evaluate candidates at scale, replacing time-consuming interviews and enabling objective assessment without CVs. The result: a 200% increase in applicants screened (monthly capacity rose from ~5,000 to 10,000–15,000), double the number of candidates accepted (targeting ~6,000 this year), and 9,423 hours saved; a removal trial also showed completion rates fell without the video interview, confirming myInterview’s value.
