Creating a culture of financial advocacy

WaFd Bank, a community-focused lender with 243 branches and about 1,800 employees across eight states, wanted to create a culture of financial advocacy by strengthening employees’ personal financial knowledge so they could better serve clients. To address that challenge, WaFd partnered with MX Technologies to roll out the MX FinStrong employee financial wellness program.

MX Technologies delivered a 12-week, private online FinStrong curriculum combined with leadership training and incentive-driven engagement, deployed across all branches. The program achieved 90% employee participation, 80% completion, and raised average FinStrong scores from 54 to 83 (roughly a 29-point increase), boosting employee performance, job satisfaction, and ongoing commitment to financial wellness at WaFd — outcomes WaFd attributes directly to MX Technologies’ program.
