Bandcamp, the artist-first music platform, wanted to create a live streaming experience that would let artists connect with fans in real time while keeping full control over the experience. After experimenting with several streaming options and running into API limitations, Bandcamp needed a reliable, customizable solution for launching its ticketed live concert service, Bandcamp Live. Using MUX Video, Bandcamp built Bandcamp Live in about two weeks and launched a native, artist-driven ticketed streaming service with real-time chat and virtual merch features. MUX’s fast, reliable APIs and responsive support made the integration smooth, and Bandcamp now uses MUX’s Live Stream Input Health dashboard to monitor streams and share performance insights with artists. Bandcamp Live has been rolled out to 100,000 artists and continues to grow.
