Revl, a San Francisco–based video startup that automates onsite editing (using its Arc camera), struggled to deliver reliable customer videos as it scaled internationally. App ratings dipped after many users reported videos that stopped playing, failed to load, or took too long to download — problems traced to Revl’s delivery approach of serving single high-quality MP4s from U.S.-only S3 storage and no adaptive streaming. Mux Video was engaged to address those delivery challenges.
Revl integrated Mux’s just-in-time transcoding and adaptive bitrate streaming so videos can be viewable seconds after upload and optimized per device. While the on-prem rollout is still in progress, Revl has used Mux for backup renders and reports the video quality has improved, previous buffering issues have disappeared, and international clients confirm playback is working well — demonstrating faster publishing and smoother viewing with Mux.
