Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce faced a 2017 North Carolina legislative challenge when lawmakers introduced a bill to repeal the community’s decade-old plastic bag ban. To mobilize members and the public quickly, the Chamber replaced its previous provider with Muster and integrated Muster’s advocacy software and Action Center into its advocacy program for that legislative session.

Using Muster, the Chamber drove over 10,000 Action Center visits and inspired more than 900 messages to decision-makers, while also compiling member emails and sharing them directly with legislative committees—documents that committee transcripts showed carried weight. Muster’s platform helped the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce successfully uphold the plastic bag ban and strengthened the Chamber’s role as a digital advocacy leader in the community.
