Case Study: Microloan Foundation achieves rapid digitalisation and growth with Musoni System

A Musoni System Case Study

Preview of the Microloan Foundation Case Study

Rapid growth and digitalised data capture for 85,000 clients across three countries

Microloan Foundation is a UK-based microfinance charity operating in Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, serving rural communities with 100% female clients. As the organisation grew across multiple countries, its custom in-house system became increasingly difficult to maintain and scale, creating a need for a long-term digitalisation partner and a more robust core banking solution from Musoni System.

Musoni System implemented its core banking system, migrating client, loan, and savings data in Malawi and Zambia and later supporting the launch in Zimbabwe. The deployment, training, and migration were completed in under three months for each rollout, helping Microloan Foundation grow to more than 82,000 end customers while maintaining a low PAR. Musoni System also introduced its Digital Field Application and integrated Poverty Probability Index surveys, improving efficiency, data quality, and social impact monitoring.
