A Mushroom Networks Case Study
Kaptel, a telecom and IT services provider serving the Gulf Coast since 1952, needed high-performance, redundant broadband for voice, video and data across residential and business customers. Single-ISP links caused latency, jitter, packet loss and dropped VoIP calls, so Kaptel chose Mushroom Networks’ Next Generation Cognitive SD-WAN with Broadband Bonding (Truffle) to address those challenges.
Mushroom Networks deployed Truffle to bond and orchestrate multiple WAN links (fiber, DSL, satellite, LTE) with intelligent overlay tunnels and specialized SDN paths for VoIP, creating a self-healing, auto-failover network. The result was faster, more reliable WAN service, guaranteed redundancy and resolved VoIP quality issues — clients reported a “super pipe” and VoIP users achieved MOS scores of 4.5, outperforming dedicated DIA at a fraction of the cost.
