A Mushroom Networks Case Study
Honeycast, a U.S.-based webcasting and live video streaming provider, was suffering from unreliable and insufficient bandwidth when forced to use customers’ corporate networks (blocked ports, security lockdowns and QoS issues) that undermined their core services. To address this, Honeycast deployed Mushroom Networks’ Streamer 4G/LTE bonding device.
Mushroom Networks’ Streamer bonds multiple cellular SIMs (Streamer appliances can house 2, 4 or 8 SIMs; Honeycast bonds two Verizon, two AT&T and two T‑Mobile SIMs) and uses Video Armor tunneling to guarantee packet delivery and route around wireless problems. The deployment delivered flawless, glitch‑free live streams, greatly improved WAN reliability, significantly reduced emergency IT calls and troubleshooting costs, and produced a rapid return on the Streamer investment.
