Borrego Health - Customer Case Study

Borrego Health, a private non-profit healthcare provider operating 24 clinics in Southern California, faced frequent T1/ISP outages that disrupted mission‑critical services like EHR, Citrix and hosted VoIP and complicated a move to a centralized phone system. To add reliability, performance and lower operating costs, Borrego Health selected Mushroom Networks’ SD‑WAN solution using Truffle broadband bonding appliances to replace single‑carrier links and unify voice and data on a single platform.

Mushroom Networks deployed Truffle devices at clinics and the data center to bond multiple ISP links (CenturyLink, SkyRiver, TelePacific), provide automated failover, and apply VoIP Armor for resilient real‑time traffic. The deployment increased WAN capacity by 400%, delivered bonded site aggregates of 23–400 Mbps, shielded EHR/VoIP/Citrix sessions with self‑healing tunnels, reduced emergency IT calls and cut WAN costs by up to 70% versus legacy MPLS.
