Steelcase, a global workplace-design company with over 12,700 employees, needed to adapt collaboration practices when the pandemic forced a shift to remote and hybrid work. Because much of their work is highly visual, teams required a way to brainstorm, design, present, and keep persistent visual records across distributed and cross-functional groups — so Steelcase adopted Mural’s digital collaboration platform to enable visual collaboration from anywhere.

Mural delivered a flexible visual workspace with templates and Facilitation Superpowers (anonymous voting, timeboxing, Summon) that made meetings more engaging and work easier to scale and templatize. The solution eliminated the need for multiple specialized tools, enabled asynchronous work and faster ideation, helped ramp new industrial design solutions by close to 10x, and drove organic adoption growth of 122% in members between January 2020 and January 2022.
