The PSL Group is a UK-based global freight forwarder (annual turnover £27m) facing tight margins and rising customer expectations for instant information. To build a new rapid-response offering they expanded their long-standing use of MultiFreight’s freight management software, adding Online Booking and enhanced Web Tracking to give customers quick, easy access to booking and real-time shipment information.

MultiFreight tailored the tracking and booking tools (including adaptations for The PSL Group’s Book Distribution services), provided active project management, and integrated the system with The PSL Group’s accounts package. The result was smoother implementation, faster customer service, greater operational efficiency and the ability to take on more business — including a trading-summary innovation that lets The PSL Group close year-end routines in a couple of hours — with MultiFreight also supporting a planned move to a cloud-hosted solution to reduce hardware costs.
