Wells Fargo, a global bank serving over 70 million customers, set out to accelerate its digital transformation and deliver a unified customer experience across phone, web, and mobile channels. The challenge was to connect multiple partners and applications quickly and consistently while meeting customer expectations for faster, seamless interactions.
The bank built Wells Fargo Gateway, a Banking-as-a-Service platform that exposes core services via APIs and uses API-led connectivity to integrate partner and application services into a single experience. By creating an application network and reusing the same APIs across channels, Wells Fargo cut IT delivery timelines from months to weeks and enabled partners to integrate seamlessly, improving speed and consistency of customer interactions.
