A MuleSoft Case Study
Banque de Luxembourg, a major wealth manager handling over €68bn in deposits, faced mounting regulatory pressure (MiFID2, PSD2) and rising customer expectations while its IT estate remained locked in point-to-point, siloed integrations. That tight coupling slowed time to market, made projects complex and costly, and threatened the ROI on initiatives like a web banking overhaul and Visa 3DS.
Working with Cap4Lab and MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform, the bank adopted a modular, API-led “Customer Centric Architecture” to decouple front-end and core systems and build reusable services (profiles, portfolios, payments, etc.). The approach let teams self-serve assets, cutting delivery time (mobile launched in six months with four months’ development), doubling time-to-market speed, and shifting focus from maintenance to innovation (about 70% of time now spent on innovation vs 40% previously).
