UCSF modernizes patient communication with MuleSoft across 8,000 staff

UCSF Medical Center, a leading academic medical center, faced a challenge with its outdated, one-way paging system. This legacy system slowed communication among its 8,000 staff members, made care team coordination difficult, and was cumbersome to use. To modernize, they partnered with MuleSoft to develop a new, integrated communication platform.

Using MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform, UCSF built CareWeb Messenger on Salesforce. This solution seamlessly integrated patient data from clinical systems like Epic and non-clinical applications into a single, secure, and HIPAA-compliant view. The results were improved real-time communication and care team collaboration. Following a successful pilot, UCSF is rolling out the MuleSoft-powered platform hospital-wide, which lowers operational costs and is ultimately expected to improve patient outcomes.
