Ube Industries achieves 99.98% availability for 1100 SAP interfaces with Mule ESB

Ube Industries, a diversified Japanese manufacturer founded in 1897 with 140+ group companies and multiple factories, faced growing integration challenges as production, logistics and accounting systems multiplied. Their decade-old EAI tool could not scale: endpoint counts surged, failures became frequent and hard to isolate, manual recoveries lengthened downtime, and vendor support was ending—creating urgent need to connect 1100+ SAP interfaces, improve error containment and cut maintenance costs.

Ube replaced the legacy stack with Mule ESB Enterprise, selected for its SAP-certified connectivity, developer tooling, scalability and extensibility. Working with integrators OGIS-RI and UIS, they deployed 1,100 interfaces in three months, raising availability from 99.7% to 99.98%, cutting per-incident/planned migration downtime from one hour to ten minutes (an ~80% reduction), and significantly lowering maintenance and operations costs.
