Indiana Department of Child Services cuts costs 79% with MuleSoft

The Indiana Department of Child Services (INDCS) faced the challenge of modernizing its legacy systems to better manage over a quarter million child cases annually. Its outdated, decade-old database was unreliable and made it difficult to integrate with other systems and securely share data with partners. INDCS partnered with MuleSoft, using its Anypoint Platform, to digitize processes and create a single view of each child to improve collaboration among its 4,000 staff members.

Using MuleSoft, INDCS securely migrated case data to Salesforce and built APIs to integrate various systems. This enabled the launch of the NEICE system for interstate case transfers and the INvest portal, which provides a real-time, 360-degree view of child records. The results included a 79% reduction in costs, 100% case compliance, and the ability to launch a critical COVID-19 tracking solution in just eight hours. MuleSoft provided the foundation that made INDCS a gold standard in child services.
