ASICS forges stronger customer relationships via new eCommerce platform

ASICS, the global athletic footwear and apparel company, needed to make eCommerce a priority but was hampered by fragmented backend systems across seven brands. Although a new storefront was chosen, ASICS couldn’t connect order management, product management, payment and email systems, resulting in a disjointed customer experience and limited eCommerce revenue. The company required a unified, API-driven eCommerce platform to integrate legacy systems and consolidate data.

Using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, ASICS built reusable APIs to connect more than 10 critical product systems, simplify data transformations with DataWeave, and make the storefront agnostic to backend systems. The approach cut development time dramatically—the first phase shipped in four weeks instead of the estimated 2.5 months—helping ASICS move 2.5x faster, deliver a global platform in six months, and achieve roughly 42% efficiency gains while focusing on a better customer experience.
