London’s Air Ambulance - Customer Case Study

London’s Air Ambulance, which has treated over 32,000 critically ill patients in 26 years, faced the challenge of rapidly processing 999 call data and getting advanced trauma teams to patients by helicopter or rapid response car as quickly and safely as possible. Mubaloo, working with EE’s Customised Apps partnership, studied the dispatch workflow and built a solution tailored to the service’s on-board and navigation requirements.

Mubaloo developed a bespoke iPad app (optimised for EE’s 4G network) with backend APIs and live TCP streaming to transmit incident details, real‑time flight and route data, and a direct connection to the London Ambulance Service emergency operations centre. The Mubaloo app reduced dispatch times by up to two minutes, enabled rapid response cars to be sent in as little as 10 seconds, and improved on‑scene readiness—helping save the lives of hundreds of critically injured patients each year.
