Mu Sigma helped the largest telecom service provider address the challenge of serving 95+ million consumers in a market increasingly driven by digital transformation and hyper-personalization. The customer needed to break down data silos, move to a faster cloud-based data architecture, and improve real-time consumer engagement with more relevant offers and recommendations.

Mu Sigma designed and prototyped a cloud-based System of Intelligence using AWS services and open-source tools, including Kinesis for ingestion, a lambda architecture for processing, Cassandra for storage, SageMaker for model operations, CloudWatch for monitoring, and Apigee for API management. The result was a real-time personalization platform capable of delivering consumer recommendations in under 5 seconds, running 5+ models with sub-second latency, and providing benchmarking metrics to guide future scaling; the prototype is now being implemented organization-wide by the telecom provider.
