Improved the seller experience for a leading e-commerce platform

Global Technology Company, a leading e-commerce and technology platform, was dealing with declining seller NPS and dissatisfaction as genuine sellers were impacted by abusive buyers and buyer-biased marketplace policies. Mu Sigma worked to improve the seller experience and protect trusted sellers, helping the company address seller trust and engagement challenges across its marketplace.

Mu Sigma implemented a data-driven seller trust framework that defined bad selling experiences, created heuristics to identify and auto-suspend abusive buyers, and introduced a seller trust score to support refund campaigns for highly trusted sellers. The results included adoption of the bad-selling-experience metric across most operating countries, automatic suspension of about 2,000 abusive buyers, prevention of roughly $2MM in annual seller losses, a 10% YoY reduction in seller detractors, and $1.5MM in incremental annual revenue.
