The customer’s challenge was limited visibility into retailer-driven pricing changes, discounts, and competitor pricing, which made it difficult to forecast volume sales accurately and plan promotions, leading to lost revenue opportunities.
Mu Sigma implemented a pricing analytics framework using cross-price elasticity, price threshold, and price gap models, delivered through an easy-to-use dashboard for Pricing Managers. The solution improved volume forecasting and pricing decisions, helped identify profitable price increases for a group of stores, and contributed to a 2% revenue increase with potential upside of 2% to 3% in certain segments.
