Wexford Science & Technology advances The Pearl with MSS Solutions' two 320,000 sq ft towers

The customer, Wexford Science & Technology, required a complex mechanical systems solution for Phase 1 of The Pearl, a major healthcare and innovation district project in Charlotte, NC. The challenge involved constructing two large towers for a laboratory and medical school, which demanded sophisticated HVAC systems including specialized air handling and energy recovery. Vendor MSS Solutions was selected to provide mechanical construction services for this large-scale development.

MSS Solutions implemented a comprehensive mechanical system that included semi-custom air handlers, chilled and heating hot water systems, and a Glycol Energy Recovery system. The solution also featured advanced components like Venturi valves and sensible cooling terminal units for the 325,000-square-foot tenant improvement for the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Through this design-assist approach, MSS Solutions successfully delivered the intricate infrastructure required for this premier research and educational facility.
