SBTC Expands Their Local Storage Architecture with a Cloud-Based Storage with MSP360™ and Google Cloud

SBTC (St. Benedict Technology Consortium), a Chicago‑based non‑profit MSP serving about 300 educational and nonprofit organizations, faced growing risk and expense from a local‑only backup approach that relied on NAS and tape for roughly 15 TB of backups. To reduce offsite backup costs and improve disaster recovery readiness (RTO), SBTC engaged MSP360 and adopted MSP360 Managed Backup with Google Cloud Storage as a cloud‑based secondary storage tier.

MSP360 implemented MSP360 Managed Backup to tier archives to Google Cloud Storage Coldline and enable full server restores to Google Cloud VMs, preserving fast local restores while providing inexpensive offsite redundancy. The solution protected ~15 TB across SBTC’s ~300 clients, delivered lower backup costs and decreased overall support and recovery time for SBTC.
