How Proper Sky Built an MSP Cloud Backup Solution with MSP360 and AWS

Proper Sky, a Pennsylvania-based Managed Services Provider supporting roughly 1,500 endpoints, struggled with unreliable local backup tools that reported false “successful” backups and failed recoveries. Seeking a cloud-friendly, monitorable and affordable solution, Proper Sky selected MSP360 Managed Backup together with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to replace its legacy on-premises backup approach.

Using MSP360 Managed Backup with Amazon S3, Proper Sky gained platform-agnostic cloud storage, white-labeling, MSP-centric pricing, and robust automation for backups and restores. MSP360 enabled automated file-level restores, recovery testing and direct VM restores to AWS, and helped Proper Sky move almost all infrastructure to the cloud—currently storing about 10 TB on S3 and expanding ~2 TB per year—resulting in reliable recoveries, lower costs and the ability to confidently restore customers’ lost data.
