Teral Kurita used CFD analysis and other simulation tools to improve fan performance for drying machines, dust collectors, and separators. The company was looking to develop more energy-efficient fans with less noise and lower vibration while evaluating product capability during development.

Using MSC Software’s SC/Tetra, Teral Kurita analyzed fan performance by visualizing inner flow, pressure distribution, and the movement of the vane wheel. The analysis showed excellent correlation with test results, and the company reported 86.5% total efficiency at 50 Hz with a newly designed vane wheel, while also reducing the number of prototypes and production tests, which lowered cost and development time.
