A MSC Software Case Study
MSC Software provided simulation software to Deggendorf University's 'Team Fast Forest' to help them design a chassis for an electric vehicle to compete in the Formula Student competition. The student team, composed of nearly 70 members, faced the challenge of building a reliable and competitive electric racing car while managing the constraints of time and money.
Using MSC Software's Adams multibody simulation software, the team was able to simulate the mechanical system, analyze tire behavior, and study complex road profiles to develop the best possible chassis. This solution allowed them to save significant time and expenses in the design process. As a result of their efforts, the team achieved a 9th place finish at the Hockenheimring competition and built a reliable vehicle capable of reaching speeds between 80 and 100 km/h.
