NovaComp Simulates More Collaboratively with SimManager Workgroup Edition

NovaComp Engineering, Inc., a Bothell, WA-based engineering services firm, provides finite element analysis (FEA) services to a wide range of industries. As projects grew more complex and data-heavy, NovaComp struggled to keep customer files, internal inputs, and revised versions organized, making it difficult to trace the latest information and maintain clear project history. The company turned to MSC Software and its SimManager Workgroup Edition to better manage simulation content.

MSC Software implemented SimManager Workgroup Edition as a web-based, out-of-the-box content management solution that could be installed and used quickly. NovaComp was able to get it running in about 2 hours, with another 1–2 hours of learning time, and now uses it to document and track what was received, what was added, and who created each version. The result is improved communication and transparency across CAE projects, reduced risk of losing critical data whether at the office, home, or on the road, and better business continuity with real-time visibility into project status.
