MSC Software’s SimManager Enables Improved Engineering Productivity and Lifecycle Management at Ashok Leyland

Ashok Leyland used MSC Software’s SimManager to address growing simulation complexity in its CAE-driven vehicle development process. As the number of simulation tools and domains increased, the company needed a more consistent way to manage models, engineering data, analyses, reports, and traceability across engineering groups.

MSC Software implemented SimManager as a simulation process and data management platform to automate pre-processing, solving, post-processing, and report generation, while integrating with Enovia V5 VPM and Enovia V6 PLM. The result was improved productivity, better results consistency and traceability, and time savings of 4 to 5 man-days for complete frame fatigue iterations, 3 to 4 man-days for truck cabin fatigue, and 1 man-day for component-level work; Ashok Leyland also reported 15% savings in preprocessing, 80% savings in post-processing for crash, CFD, durability and NVH, and about 60% savings in human effort for durability studies.
