Kitamura Valve used MSC Software’s SC/Tetra to understand the flow characteristics of an OM ball valve. The company wanted to evaluate valve performance and better understand how flow, pressure, and force changed as the valve opening angle varied.

MSC Software’s fluid analysis compared experimental and calculated Cv values and showed sufficient accuracy. The analysis also visualized turbulence, vortex generation, and flow paths, helping confirm that the OM ball valve could control flow rate stably and estimate the forces acting on the valve under working conditions.
