Invernizzi Presse Gains Precision and Safety with VPD Tools

Invernizzi Presse, the Italian manufacturer of mechanical presses, needed a better way to analyze complex contact, safety, and load conditions in its standard and custom-made press designs. Working with MSC Software, the company used MSC.Marc and MSC.Patran to replace slower, less precise manual calculation methods and to evaluate more design options during development.

MSC Software implemented MSC.Marc and MSC.Patran for finite element analysis, including contact studies, thermomechanical behavior, safety structure analysis, gear transmission analysis, and bending load calculations. The result was more accurate calculations, faster design iteration, improved material selection and weight optimization, reduced production costs, and the ability to demonstrate press performance virtually without building physical prototypes.
