Aomori Prefectural Industrial Technology Research Center - Customer Case Study

Aomori Prefectural Industrial Technology Research Center, an independent organization since 2009, conducts research, technical consultation, and testing to support local industries in Aomori. Its Hachinohe Industrial Institute needed a way to analyze heat in a thermally sensitive food contaminant inspection device, where performance could be affected by temperature, humidity, and airborne particles. The center chose HeatDesigner from MSC Software to better understand how the device would behave outside controlled laboratory conditions.

Using MSC Software’s HeatDesigner, the center ran thermal analyses to refine the device design, including a sealed chassis, a Peltier device, and fan placement. The software helped the team reduce calculation times to as low as 30 minutes in some cases and supported experiments that maintained the spectroscope chassis at 23 °C. The center also used the tool to guide other development work, including portable fuel cells and moisture and heat measurements for biomass-related applications.
