Tarrant County Housing Assistance Office goes paperless with Assistance Connect

Tarrant County Housing Assistance Office (TCHAO) provides safe, affordable housing in Fort Worth, serving about 3,000 low-income families. Before 2017, resident interactions were entirely offline—paper applications, in-person submissions and manual data entry—which created time-consuming processes for both staff and families.

In 2017 TCHAO implemented Assistance Connect, adding online portals for applications, household updates, FAQs and communications. The platform enabled remote form submission, email notifications and self-service resources, reducing office calls and data-entry time and making services more accessible for working families while preserving outreach for those without internet access.
