Ricoh Arena uses MRI eSight to raise awareness of energy management & reduce energy usage by 15%

Ricoh Arena, a 40-acre multi‑use venue in Coventry with a 32,000‑seat stadium, exhibition centre, hotel and other facilities, needed a way to monitor and reduce energy use across a complex estate with over 200 meters. The facilities team wanted a simple, visitor‑facing system to capture electricity, gas, water and flow data, raise alarms for anomalies, produce automatic reports, support tenant billing and normalize consumption for temperature variations — while demonstrating the site’s green credentials.

They implemented MRI eSight for its compatibility and ease of use, enabling site‑wide auditing, automated reporting, tenant billing and dashboards (including a public eZdash display). Targeting major loads such as lighting and HVAC and investing in efficient equipment and controls delivered fast payback: in year one electricity fell 15%, gas 6% and water 13%, helping Ricoh Arena achieve the Carbon Trust Standard and improve ongoing energy management and reporting.
