Erie 1 BOCES Gains Control Of Their Inventory And Assets With Series4000

Erie 1 BOCES is a regional education service organization in Western New York serving 74,441 students across 20 component districts and housing the Western New York Regional Information Center, which supports more than 100 districts. Facing growing complexity, Erie 1 relied on a homegrown Access database and spreadsheets to track inventory and fixed assets and needed a market-leading, GASB 34/35–compliant solution to gain better control and regulatory compliance.

Since implementing MRI’s Series4000 (Asset4000 and Inventory4000) in 2012, Erie 1 now manages over 400,000 inventory items and 34,000 assets, with tightened asset control, improved depreciation and audit reporting, and standardized reports that show precise locations for clients. The system also enabled significant supplier discounts and lower insurance premiums, and Erie 1 plans to expand functionality with Project4000 for capital project and asset‑under‑construction management.
