A MPulse Software Case Study
St. Mary's County Public Schools (SMCPS) serves more than 17,000 students across 19 elementary, four middle, and three high schools, plus additional facilities, with a 33-person maintenance team. The district relied on a reactive, phone-driven maintenance process with little documentation, no preventive maintenance program, and limited historical data—creating mounting operational strain as requests and assets grew.
To modernize operations, SMCPS implemented MPulse Silver CMMS, built a complete asset database (684 assets), and trained facility requesters to use the system. The district now processes 75–100 work orders per day, has created 2,477 scheduled maintenance tasks resulting in 4,855 planned repairs, shifted from 100% reactive repairs to a 48% planned / 52% unplanned mix, and surpassed 100,000 opened work orders—improving prioritization, reporting, and long‑term budgeting.
