Siemens Building Technologies Group boosts work order completion to 85-90% with MPulse Software

Siemens Building Technologies Group, a manufacturing facility of the global engineering company Siemens, faced challenges in maintenance communication and efficiency. They operated without a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), relying on paper and a rigid, outdated cell status board that could not be adapted to changing plant needs. Supervisor Vic Carrescia sought a solution to modernize maintenance operations, improve cost tracking, and gain a real-time view of asset health in line with their lean manufacturing philosophy. The vendor, MPulse Software, provided their MPulse Gold Edition CMMS and support services.

The solution implemented by MPulse Software went beyond standard CMMS features. Through collaboration, they co-developed the customizable Asset Status Board (ASB), which provided a real-time visual overview of production cell status on large monitors throughout the plant. MPulse also delivered robust modules for preventive maintenance scheduling, work order management, and inventory control. The results were significant: monthly work order completion rates reached 85-90%, preventive maintenance completion achieved 100%, and communication was streamlined, reducing downtime. Siemens attributed much of this success to the responsive partnership with MPulse Software.
