Public Schools Vancouver School District Maximizes Asset Lifecycles

Vancouver School District—serving about 22,000 students across 43 buildings with a 46-person maintenance crew—faced largely reactive fleet and facilities maintenance that left little time for preventative work and made it difficult to deliver consistently high-quality service. Prior to MPulse, routine issues ranged from blown lights and upholstery tears to engine failures, and workloads were hard to monitor or prioritize.

VSD implemented MPulse Gold Edition (including MobileWorks, barcode-enabled Inventory Clerk, Request Approval Routing, Purchase Requisitions, and an Asset Status Board) and integrated it with Zonar electronic fleet management. The system is used to schedule preventive maintenance, plan repairs, and track expenditures—resulting in roughly a 15% increase in asset lifecycles, higher maintenance efficiency, fewer labor hours and repair trips, better workload visibility, and overall cost savings.
