News UK chose MPP Global to help The Times monetize its digital content and launch one of the first mainstream paywalls. The challenge was to rapidly deploy an enterprise-grade CRM and eCommerce solution that supported subscriptions, multiple payment types and currencies for a global audience while centralising customer and payment data to reduce friction and speed time-to-market.
MPP Global integrated its eSuite platform into The Times site to present a secure paywall with stored customer accounts, one‑click purchases, support for local payment methods, PayPal and subscriptions, and a management console for customer service. The result was dramatically reduced development time, a smooth customer journey that lowered purchase barriers and strong commercial traction—The Times reached about 140,000 paying subscribers (mainly on tablets) and continues to grow.
