Philips partnered with MPP Global to add robust eCommerce and payment capabilities to its 2nd-generation Smart TV. The challenge was to deliver a secure, integrated global payment system that would let users buy VOD, apps and other content directly from the TV via a centralised account while supporting multiple currencies, languages, household profiles and scalable customer support.
MPP Global integrated its eSuite platform and API/SDK into Philips’ Smart TV to enable centralised payment accounts, one‑click purchases, multi-currency/multi-language support, household log-ons and a customer support console for refunds and account management. The result was a fast, secure and seamless purchasing experience that helped Philips monetise content globally and simplified support and payment management for both consumers and content providers.
