McClatchy, a 160‑year‑old media company operating 29 titles across North America, needed to transition to a digital‑first model but lacked flexible subscription management, reliable audience data and a seamless user experience. The publisher required robust paywall rules, easy subscription flows, offers and promotions tools, advanced reporting, centralised reader identities and the ability to experiment with new products to convert casual readers into paid subscribers.
McClatchy selected MPP Global’s eSuite to centralise subscription management and billing across all 29 publications. eSuite’s decisioning engine, digital fingerprinting, A/B testing, predictive churn tools, SSO member centre and SDK enabled personalised pay meters, better analytics and targeted retention campaigns. The rollout unified and simplified the user journey, improved insight-driven marketing and conversions, and set the stage for ongoing integration with print, rewards and messaging systems.
