Europe’s largest pay-TV broadcaster faced the challenge of launching a competitive OTT video service (to counter entrants like Netflix) while avoiding cannibalization of its successful satellite business. It needed a way to reach new, casual and price-sensitive viewers across multiple devices with flexible, low-commitment packages and tightly controlled pricing bundles to grow OTT subscribers without increasing DTH churn.
The operator chose MPP Global’s eSuite — a cloud platform combining identity management, CRM, eCommerce and eWallet — to manage offers, billing, personalization and one-click payments, enabling day-, week- and month-pass models and rapid deployment in weeks. Since launch the service saw subscribers grow 30% year-on-year, a 12-fold rise in transaction volumes, sports transactions trebling to over one million in 2015, and churn falling to 10% — its lowest in 12 years.
