PHOENIX CONTACT, a global market leader in electrical engineering with 17,400 employees and multiple production sites, needed to manage and control large volumes of shop-floor and process data from complex, multi-stage manufacturing across Germany, Poland (and pilot projects in China and the USA). To address data fragmentation and lack of real-time visibility, PHOENIX CONTACT turned to MPDV and its HYDRA Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

MPDV implemented HYDRA with interfaces to SAP PP/QM, DNC for injection molding machines, Shop Floor Scheduling, Tool & Resource Management and CAQ functionality, connecting ~200 HYDRA office clients and ~900 machine/manual workplaces on a Windows/Oracle platform. The solution delivered faster transparency and higher productivity, improved ERP data quality, detection and reduction of machine standstills to boost availability, a fixed three‑day production plan ensuring resource readiness, continuous parameter monitoring, movement toward paperless production, and cost reductions driven by HYDRA KPIs.
