pelzGROUP - Customer Case Study

pelzGROUP, a German manufacturer of cotton pads, swabs and other hygiene products with over 750 employees, needed to automate shop-floor data collection and replace paper-based time tickets to improve data reliability and responsiveness. After evaluating suppliers, pelzGROUP selected MPDV’s MES HYDRA (2015) for its wide range of standard functions and scalability to support lean initiatives around motivation, organization, improvements and efficiency.

MPDV implemented HYDRA starting with Shop Floor Data (BDE) and Machine Data (MDE) terminals attached to machines and integrated the MES with pelzGROUP’s in‑house ERP, enabling real‑time data transfer and one‑click OEE calculation across ~20 shop‑floor and ~100 office clients. Subsequent HYDRA modules (Time & Attendance PZE, Personnel Time Management PZW, Personnel Scheduling PEP, Access Control ZKS) eliminated paper for leave requests, streamlined staffing and access, improved maintenance compliance, and delivered faster, more reliable production data—supporting 3–4 orders per machine per day and an average of 50,000 packaging units.
