DIEHL Metall - Customer Case Study

DIEHL Metall, a global supplier of brass and special-alloy components, needed to replace its legacy Time & Attendance system with a flexible, fail‑safe solution that would remain compatible when SAP was introduced and include a certified SAP interface. They also required online shop‑floor information, simplified procedures to support paperless production, and machine data collection. To meet these needs they engaged MPDV and deployed the HYDRA manufacturing execution system.

MPDV implemented HYDRA starting with a Time & Attendance test run and a Shop Floor/Machine Data pilot, moving to productive use within months and later expanding modules (Shop Floor Scheduling, Personnel Scheduling, Incentive Pay, Material & Production Logistics) and integrations (weighing systems, machine controls, SAP PP/HR/CO). The MPDV solution runs on 2 Oracle servers with 73 shop‑floor clients, 25 T&A/access clients and 230 office clients, and delivered measurable benefits: reduced manual administrative effort, real‑time transparency of orders, personnel and machines, and accurate piece counts uploaded directly to SAP PP.
