A Moving Brands Case Study
Moving Brands worked with Khan Academy, the nonprofit education platform founded by Sal Khan, to relaunch its global back-to-school campaign, LearnStorm. The challenge was to create a campaign that could engage and inspire teachers and students while driving ambitious sign-up goals for the program.
Moving Brands developed a vibrant campaign strategy, design system, messaging, and content centered on growth mindset and the tagline “Keep going, Keep growing.” Using tree-ring visuals inspired by Khan Academy’s leaf logo, they built flexible learning worlds across subjects and curriculums. The 2017 campaign smashed targets, generating 23,000 teacher sign-ups and 975,000 student sign-ups, 64% and 95% above goal respectively, and Moving Brands later refreshed the toolkit to support Khan Academy’s updated brand identity.
