Wieliczka Salt Mine handles 400,000 monthly visits with Move Closer

Move Closer was approached by the Unesco Tourist Attraction (Wieliczka Salt Mine) to create a core software solution for a new ticket reservation system. The challenge was to develop more than a simple checkout; the system needed to allow millions of tourists to browse different types of tours and securely book and pay for tickets for one of the biggest tourist attractions in the CEE region.

The solution implemented by Move Closer involved custom software development for both the front and back ends, using a tech stack that included a Laravel-based custom CMS with a Vue.js admin panel and an Angular front end. This resulted in a highly successful platform that, during peak times, handles over 400,000 website visits per month and facilitates the purchase of hundreds of thousands of tickets, with the vast majority of the 1.7 million annual visitors using the system for their bookings.
