The San Francisco 49ers wanted to drive in-store purchases from customers near their Santa Clara and San Francisco Union Square team stores. To do that, they worked with Movable Ink to create a targeted Black Friday email campaign using a scratch-off offer, tailored only to subscribers within 5 miles of a team store.
Movable Ink inserted the geo-targeted scratch-off promotion into the email, adding exclusivity and surprise for nearby fans. The campaign tripled Black Friday sales, drove strong foot traffic, and delivered 50% open rates, 12% reopens, and a 2% lift in CTR.
