The Spice & Tea Exchange, a franchisor with more than 42 stores, needed a formal way to preserve its culture and keep employees connected as the company grew — particularly to reinforce its mission and three core values (passion, responsibility, distinction) across two coast-based corporate locations. After evaluating options, The Spice & Tea Exchange chose Motivosity’s social recognition platform to introduce structured peer-to-peer appreciation and a communications hub.
Motivosity was rolled out on National Employee Appreciation Day 2015 and is now used by every employee; TSTE budgets $20 per employee each month for peer recognition. The platform put faces to names between locations, reduced silos, became the company’s go-to for announcements, and reinforced values — producing increased appreciation and communication, stronger accountability, fewer employee relations issues, and low turnover for The Spice & Tea Exchange.
